Informational: Update – University Operating Status (Condition 3) and Resources

UNC-Chapel Hill has been updated to a Condition 3 retroactive to Monday’s Condition 2 message. UNC-Chapel Hill will remain in Condition 3 until 11:59 p.m. Tuesday night. Classes are canceled Tuesday, and non-mandatory operations are suspended. Non-mandatory employees are not required to work or use paid leave unless otherwise informed by their supervisor.

Resources 

UNC-Chapel Hill has resources available for students, faculty and staff. Your mental health and well-being are paramount, and there are resources available to support you now and in the days ahead. 

For Students 

Counseling and Psychological Services are available to any students who need to speak with a mental health provider. CAPS can be reached via 919-966-3658 or caps@unc.edu. 

There is in-person student counseling support in these three locations Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.: 

  • Carolina Union, Room 2420 
  • SASB North, Room 1118 
  • Campus Health 

For Employees 

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) will have dedicated counselors available for faculty and staff today and Wednesday. Information about times and locations will be sent directly to all employees. EAP support is also available online through GuidanceConnect. Log on to guidanceresources.com with a username and password or register with Web ID: TARHEELS. You may also call 877-314-5841 to make an appointment with a counselor. Support is free and confidential.

Additionally, the University has set up a hotline for students, faculty, staff, parents and the community to address concerns and questions. It can be accessed by calling 919-918-1999.
