The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for Central North Carolina from noon to 8 p.m. today. An excessive heat warning means the temperature will be dangerously high. There will be a high temperature of 99 degrees Fahrenheit with heat index values of 105-114 degrees. Facilities staff and campus safety officials are prepared to respond to emergencies as needed. Use caution if you have outdoor plans. Stay hydrated and limit exposure during the hottest time of the day. If you or someone is experiencing any signs of heat-related illness, dial 911 immediately.
