Town of Chapel Hill Police Investigating Robbery at Pittsboro Street Credit Union

The Town of Chapel Hill Police Department is investigating a robbery occurring just before 11 a.m. this morning (Tues., July 2), at the Pittsboro Street branch of the State Employees Credit Union, just west of the UNC Campus.

A man entered the credit union, passed a note to tellers demanding money, and left the facility in the direction of Pittsboro Street with an amount of cash. The suspect was described as an elderly Black male with a heavy build, 5-10 to 6-1 in height, wearing a ballcap, with scruffy facial hair. No weapons were reported.

The Town of Chapel Hill Police Department continues to investigate and seek the apprehension of the suspect. Calls to Crime Stoppers are confidential and anonymous, and the caller may be eligible for a cash reward up to $2,000 for information that leads to arrest.”
