UNC STUDENTS, STAFF, AND FACULTY:
UNC Public Safety Investigating Reported Strong-arm Robbery in Porthole Alley
UNC Police are investigating the report of a strong-arm robbery of a male victim occurring early this morning on the UNC Campus (just off Franklin Street). The victim, who was not a UNC student, was walking in Porthole Alley shortly before 3 a.m. when he was approached by four suspects who physically assaulted him and took his cellphone. As Police arrived at the scene, two suspects left the scene in a silver vehicle; the other two suspects fled on foot and were apprehended. The victim, who was transported for treatment, did not report seeing a weapon. Police believe there is no ongoing threat to the campus community.
