Students, Faculty, and Staff:
Around 8:55 p.m. today a student reported that they were assaulted by an unknown male near Craige Residence Hall on Skipper Bowls Drive. The suspect tried to pull the student into the wooded area behind the residence hall and then tried to push the student down. The student fought him off and contacted UNC Police. The man was arrested by UNC Police and is in custody.
The UNC Police Department is available 24 hours a day by calling 911 in an emergency or 919-962-8100 for non-emergency assistance. Officers are also available in person at the Public Safety Building located at 285 Manning Drive.
