The Town of Chapel Hill Police Department has issued the following information:
“The Chapel Hill Police Department responded to a reported assault at about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021.
A female victim was walking in the area of the 500 block of North Columbia Street. The victim told officers she had just left the area of East Franklin Street and North Columbia Street. Chapel Hill Police Department is leading the investigation and officers are working to gather details on a suspect(s). No additional information is available at this time.
Anyone with information should contact the Chapel Hill Police Department at 919-968-2760 (8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday) or call 911. Callers who wish to remain anonymous can call Chapel Hill-Carrboro-UNC Crimestoppers at 919- 942-7515. Information that leads to an arrest could be eligible for a reward up to $2,000.”
