Adverse Conditions: Critical- University moving to Condition 1 at 10 pm today, Monday, Dec. 8.

Due to winter weather, the University is moving to Condition 1 at 10 p.m. today, Monday, Dec. 8, and will stay in Condition 1 until 10:59 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 9.

If a change in conditions is extended beyond 10:59 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 9, it will be communicated via Alert Carolina no later than 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 9.

Your safety is our number one consideration. As a rule, students, faculty and staff must use their own best judgment about whether they can travel safely to and from campus. Please review the information and resources below to help you understand how a Condition 1 may impact you:

Students and Faculty

  • Faculty and Students with impacted exams will receive email guidance on available options for final exams scheduled during this time.

Staff

  • Non-Mandatory Employees have the option to report to work late, leave early or not report to work after informing their supervisors in a timely manner. You must use available personal leave time (compensatory, vacation, or bonus) to cover any time away from regular work hours.
  • Non-Mandatory Employees may be permitted to work from home or alternate sites when it is feasible and safe only with supervisor approval. Employees working away from campus do not use leave.
  • Mandatory Employees are expected to report to work or remain on the job and, if deemed necessary by their supervisor, to work a different schedule or shift than normally assigned.
